Day Off At Monkey Island

The world needs Ayahuasca, it’s so sick right now but could be healed in such a short time. We’ve become too human, unable to control our emotions, our egos are out of control, and we forgot what we really are. The second ceremony was physically demanding and last night’s ceremony was mentally demanding, but today I was a new person. I did my best to put in to words how wonderful and amazing I felt after the second ceremony, however there are no words to describe how I felt this morning. I was stepping in to a new world.

I got up around 5am full of energy with only a few hours of sleep and walked down to the river to watch the sunrise. There was only one thought on my mind, love. I was not thinking about it, it was just there, it was all that was there. I felt this amazing energy in my arms, experiencing billions of little points tingling. Not like when your arm falls asleep due to lack of blood circulation but some kind of connection, some kind of integration. Each of these billions of points on my arms was connected to a unique thin vibration of energy. I was connected to everything and could kind of tune in to each and everything. One point was connected to the spider on the blade of grass by my feet; another point was connected to the 2nd tree from the left in the backyard of the house where I grew up. Another was connected to a childhood friend; with another connected to a guy I saw on a flight to Hanoi, everything was there. I was not experiencing mareado, this was something I brought back with me.

Others started to rise and a small handful of them came up and hugged me for last night. We had breakfast and those who wanted headed to Monkey Island.

We passed a few locals as we headed up the Amazon. The boat motor was noisy but my head was only hearing love, I was only feeling love. I held on to this feeling tightly and shed a few more tears of light as we traveled on.

In a little over an hour we reached Monkey Island. A rehabilitation center for sick and injured monkeys so that they could one day be reintroduced to the wild, the perfect microcosm for Blue Morpho and this planet.

Oh what cute little hands, they are just adorable.

They had five different species of monkeys here and they were all very playful. It was important that you kept track of all your belongings and made sure they were secured. Otherwise you might never see them again, well you might see them again, but they will be way up high in the tree and you will be unable to ever touch them again. One guy, let's call him "LA", said good-bye to his sunglasses as they were now an ornament on a near by tree.

I wonder how my dog would feel about introducing a monkey to our household.

They are very playful and full of energy.

I have to apologize as I did not really pay much attention as to which monkey was which, however I think this one was a Red-Faced something or other.

Very cute little hands.

Having fully sweated through my shirt I was glad it was time to go and the pool at the lodge sounded fantastic.

We had tonight off which means we would be eating dinner. I was glad; even though the rewards from last night were life changing I knew I could not handle that level of intensity again. I was not mentally ready to survive the tormenting depths of hell trapped deep inside my own mind. If I drank tonight I would not make it back to what we perceive as sanity.

After dinner anyone who wanted headed out on the Amazon in search of wildlife and a few lessons on the stars and constellations. I’ve been extremely fortunate to be in many areas like this in the past, so far away from civilization and artificial lights that the night sky comes alive, I love it.
